Terms of Service

Welcome to ProFitCV. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services, including the one-time paid unlock described below. By accessing or using ProFitCV ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Overview

ProFitCV is a platform that provides resume and cover letter building tools powered by artificial intelligence. Building is free. We offer a single optional purchase — the CV Download Unlock, a one-time payment of US$9.00 that removes the watermark from your PDF downloads and lifts the free AI allowance described in section 4. Payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment provider. All prices on this site are stated in United States dollars (USD).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into legally binding contracts to use this Service. By accessing the Service, you confirm that you meet this eligibility requirement.

3. Account Registration

To access the Service, including the CV Download Unlock, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account.

4. Free Use of the Service

Building on ProFitCV is free and does not expire. A free account includes the full resume and cover letter builder, every template, unlimited documents, and no credit card requirement. Two limits apply to free accounts:

• PDF watermark: PDF downloads carry a ProFitCV watermark.
• AI allowance: AI features (the AI Agent, Smart Fill, generation, job matching, translation and resume import) are covered by a one-time free allowance. Different AI features consume different amounts of that allowance. Once it is used up, AI features stop working on a free account and are not replenished; everything else on the account continues to work normally.

A fair-use rate limit on how many AI requests can be made per minute applies to all accounts, free and paid, to protect the service from automated abuse.

5. CV Download Unlock (One-Time Purchase)

If you choose to remove the watermark, you may purchase the CV Download Unlock. Payment details are entered on a checkout page hosted by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details. The following terms apply:

• Price: A single payment of US$9.00 (nine United States dollars), charged once. The price you see on the checkout page before you confirm is the price you pay. Your bank may apply currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, which are outside our control.
• No subscription: This is not a subscription. There is no recurring charge, no automatic renewal, and nothing to cancel. We will not charge your payment method again unless you make another purchase yourself.
• What you receive: Watermark-free PDF downloads on your account, for every resume and cover letter you create, with no limit on the number of downloads and no expiry date. The free AI allowance described in section 4 no longer applies to your account, so you can keep using the AI features without that cap. The per-minute fair-use rate limit still applies.
• Delivery: Access is applied to your account automatically as soon as Stripe confirms your payment, normally within a few seconds. If it does not appear, contact us at the address in section 6 and we will resolve it.

6. Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, email support@profitcv.com within 14 days of your payment and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason.

To request a refund, send us the email address on your ProFitCV account from the address you used at checkout, or include your Stripe receipt. We aim to respond within two business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. When a refund is issued, watermark-free downloads are removed from your account and your account returns to the free plan. Your resumes and cover letters themselves are not deleted.

There is no cancellation process to follow, because the CV Download Unlock is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us first — we would much rather fix it directly than have you raise a dispute with your bank.

7. Changes to Services and Pricing

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also change the price of the CV Download Unlock, or run time-limited promotional pricing. Any such change applies only to purchases made after it takes effect, and never to a purchase you have already completed — an unlock you have paid for remains valid regardless of later price changes. Where a promotional price is advertised, the promotional price and its end date are shown before you reach checkout.

8. License to Use the Service

ProFitCV grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Service for personal or professional use in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service;
• Use the Service to build a competing product;
• Access or attempt to access the Service by any means other than through the interfaces provided.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property related to ProFitCV are owned by ProFitCV or its licensors. You agree not to infringe on these rights.

10. User Content

By using the Service, you grant ProFitCV a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and display any content you create using the platform (such as resumes) solely for the purpose of providing the Service. You retain all ownership of your content.

11. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links or integrations to third-party websites or services (e.g., Stripe for payments). ProFitCV is not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party websites or services.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. ProFitCV makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to the accuracy of resume outputs, the suitability of resumes for job applications, or the uninterrupted availability of the Service.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProFitCV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Québec, in the judicial district of Montréal.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you may have as a consumer under the mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection legislation, including Québec's Consumer Protection Act, where such legislation applies to you.

16. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Effective Date" will be updated accordingly. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect will constitute your acceptance of the new Terms.
